As a lay organization,  the Father Bernard Youth Center is not sponsored by a religious community nor the Archdiocese of Portland.  Whereas half of our income for daily operations  is the result of programs, services and hospitality we offer, the other half comes from donations from individuals and groups.   Because of the generosity of our donors we are able to  live out our mission to youth and young people who are seeking a personal encounter with Christ.  Thank you for your continued support!

Donations are accepted in the following ways:

• Pledges or gifts on a monthly or annual basis.

 Fr. Bernard Youth Center is a 501(c)3 religious non-profit. 

If you would like to fund a specific need rather than a general donation, please consider sponsoring one or more of the following:

• Building Maintenance Fund - Our building was built in the 1950's and is starting to show its age.  We need to upgrade widows, electrical and plumbing systems, paint, minor repairs, etc.   $100+
• Etched-Glass Icons (6) - Placed in the Chapel in 2005, the  etched glass icons frame the altar and add significant beauty to this sacred space.  We are grateful to  the Sander, Harris and Zakowicz families for sponsoring 4 of the 6 panels.  The two remaining panels - Sts. Clare and Francis and Venerable Conchita and Felix are available. Each is $10,000 and can be sponsored by an individual or group.  
• Sponsor a Retreat! Directly serve 20 - 100 young people who would otherwise not be able to participate in a program -  $160 per person.  Money would be contributed to the Bill and Pat Rivers Scholarship Fund to assist families and parishes who lack the means to send their child on a retreat.  
• Support our Annual Auction by donating items for auction, sponsoring a table/s and purchasing a ticket. 
• Capital Campaign -Catholic Community Services (CCS) is expected to finalize its purchase of the monastery this month and plans to move its transitional housing program, St. Joseph’s Shelter, into the facility. Meanwhile the property currently housing St. Joseph’s Shelter is being purchased from CCS by Father Bernard Youth Center (FBYC) in a deal they hope to finalize in the new year. The transitions will not be immediate and current programs are expected to stay in place for at least a year as parties complete site plans and undertake renovations.
